Applications are now open for the 2027 Mandela Rhodes Foundation (MRF) Postgraduate Scholarships. The scholarship combines financial support with a leadership programme that will challenge you, grow you, and connect you to young African changemakers. 

Requirements:

 It is for young leaders who have a combination of intellect and character. You must be academically strong: your marks should be above 70% or an upper second. You must also have demonstrated leadership on your campus or in your community. If you are between the ages of 19 and 29 in the year of applying, you are eligible. The Mandela Rhodes Scholarship is for postgraduate study (Honours and Masters degrees) in any field.

The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), an agency of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, is mandated to ensure the equitable growth of the South African film and video industry. The NFVF fulfils this mandate by providing funding for the development, production, marketing, and distribution of films, as well as the training and development of filmmakers.

In addition, the NFVF commissions research and produces industry statistics that provide valuable insights into the South African film industry for both the public and stakeholders.

Applications are now open for the 2027 Nordic Africa Institute’s Nordic Scholarship Programme. If you are an early-career researcher based in Africa, the African Scholarship Programme provides opportunities for you to come to us to work on your research for a period of two to three months. The purpose of the African Scholarship Programme is to provide opportunities for early career researchers based in Africa to work and develop their ongoing research at the Nordic Africa Institute. The scholarship offers access to the Institute’s library, hosting by the Institute’s researchers, networking opportunities and other resources that provide for a stimulating research environment.

Through the programme, the Nordic Africa Institute aims to contribute to building capacity in the production of knowledge about Africa, and to promote and establish relations with and between African and Nordic research communities. Hosting guest researchers at the Nordic Africa Institute helps the Institute to learn about current research and to benefit from networking opportunities with scholars from the continent.

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e.V. awards full scholarships for a Master’s degree (standard duration: four semesters) or a doctoral program at a university in Germany. Applications are now open for the 2026/2028 Sciences Po Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is open to students who are admitted onto a master’s programme at Sciences Po and who meet the eligibility criteria for the scholarship. IOC Dakar Youth Olympic Games (YOG)  Young Reporters Programme. The next edition of the Young Reporters Programme, which will run during the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG). Sixteen aspiring sports journalists from around the world will be selected to take part in this immersive training experience, and develop their skills in a real Games-time environment.

The IOC Young Reporters Programme is a long-standing initiative by the International Olympic Committee aimed at developing the next generation of sports journalists.  It was first introduced at the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Singapore in 2010 and since then it has been a successful feature of each YOG edition. The programme is run by IOC Media Operations.
