Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) International Scholarship 2026 for Study and Research in Germany

Applications are now open for the 2026 Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Scholarship. Since 1970 the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung awards scholarships to international students from around the world to study and research in Germany. The scholarship program is aiming at international students and graduates who have acquired a university degree and who intend to complete postgraduate or master studies, doctoral studies or a research stay of at least four semesters at a university in Germany.

Funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, KAS offer scholarships to international students and PhD candidates who plan to begin or continue their studies at a German university.

This is a special training for teachers of mathematics in Africa.

The AIMS MMST is a professional program designed to provide current teachers of mathematics an opportunity to expand the knowledge of its participants in mathematical foundations relating to core secondary school curricula, and applications of modern mathematics. Coupled with significant mathematical concepts, the program is enriched with relevant pedagogy courses to challenge its students to investigate new, innovative and research-informed methods of knowledge transfer.

CECIL Renaud Overseas Scholarships 2027 for young South Africans to study in the United Kingdom.

Applications are now open for the 2027 CECIL Renaud Overseas Scholarships. Dr Cecil Renaud, a well-known Durban Philanthropist, established The Cecil Renaud Educational and Charitable Trust in 1988. Dr Renaud passed away on 3 June 1993 and bequeathed the residue of his estate to the Trust. Shortly after the Trust became active, the trustees established the Overseas Scholarship.

The Overseas Scholarship, granted annually to one or two students, is awarded for a maximum of two years for post-graduate study (Masters degree (or equivalent) or PhD) in the United Kingdom at a university of the student’s choice.

Applications are now open for the 2027/2028 Fulbright South African Research Scholar Program. The Fulbright South African Research Scholar Program (SARSP) is an opportunity for South African university faculty or research institute professionals to conduct research in their field of expertise at a U.S. academic or research Institution for a period of 3 to 9 months. A research grant enables the scholar to perform high-level research at a U.S. academic or research institution, aimed at strengthening academic programs or curricula at his/her home institution. Qualifying applicants have a proven track record of productive scholarly research, teaching and publication.  Research programs of 3 to 9 months are commenced between August 1, 2027 and March 31, 2028; to be completed by December 31, 2028.

University of Pretoria MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program (MCFSP) 2027 for study in South Africa (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the 2027 University of Pretoria MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program. The University of Pretoria (UP) in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program has been offering scholarships and wraparound support to high achieving young Africans pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate (Honours and Masters) degrees since January 2014. The University and the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program entered into phase 2 agreement December 2023 to support more young people on the continent. In January 2024 a new phase 2 cohort commenced with their studies.

The target groups are young Africans who are academically talented young people facing economic and social barriers inclusive of those living with disabilities and internally displaced persons/refugees that will contribute to the transformation of the continent through their knowledge, skills, attitudes and values evidenced by their leadership. Community service and internships are essential components of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program including entrepreneurship. Upon the completion of their studies, Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program Alumni commit to give back in ways that enhance the economic growth and social development of their communities and the continent.

Launched by the Kofi Annan Foundation (KAF) and the Democracy and Culture Foundation in 2023, the Kofi Annan NextGen Democracy Prize is awarded annually to a young leader aged 18 to 30 and presented at the Athens Democracy Forum. The award recognises exceptional leadership shown by young activists in defending and promoting democracy, and aims to inspire more young people to commit to the advancement of democracy.

Throughout his mandate as Secretary-General of the United Nations and later at the head of KAF, Kofi Annan worked to promote democracy, which he called “a catalyst for better governance, greater security, and human development.” He was also a great believer in youth leadership and inclusion, and he strived to facilitate the participation of young people in local, national and international decision-making forums.

German Bundestag International Parliamentary Scholarships (IPS) 2027 for young African Graduates (700 euros per month & Fully Funded to Berlin, Germany).

Applications are now open for the 2027 Nordic Africa Institute’s Nordic Scholarship Programme. If you are an early-career researcher based in Africa, the African Scholarship Programme provides opportunities for you to come to us to work on your research for a period of two to three months. The purpose of the African Scholarship Programme is to provide opportunities for early career researchers based in Africa to work and develop their ongoing research at the Nordic Africa Institute. The scholarship offers access to the Institute’s library, hosting by the Institute’s researchers, networking opportunities and other resources that provide for a stimulating research environment.

Through the programme, the Nordic Africa Institute aims to contribute to building capacity in the production of knowledge about Africa, and to promote and establish relations with and between African and Nordic research communities. Hosting guest researchers at the Nordic Africa Institute helps the Institute to learn about current research and to benefit from networking opportunities with scholars from the continent.
