Chongqing Municipal Government Mayor Scholarship for International Students in China, 2018

Chongqing Municipal Government is pleased to offer scholarships for international students in 2016-2017 academic session. Scholarships will be awarded to undertake undergraduate, master and doctoral degree program.

In order to encourage more outstanding international students to pursue a higher education in Chongqing. Chongqing Municipal Government launches the Chongqing Municipal Government Mayor Scholarship.

Chongqing Municipal Government offers a variety of scholarship programs to sponsor international students and scholars to undertake studies and research in Chongqing institution.

Students who have won other scholarships are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. They should meet the language requirements of the higher education institutions. General English language requirements for English-instructed programs and Chinese-instructed programs are different.

Scholarship Description:

• Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate, master and doctoral degree program at Universities in Chongqing.
• Study Subject: Scholarships are offered over different departments across the university, all offering a diverse range of courses.
• Scholarship Award:  First-class scholarship:

  The length of funding should be less than the normal period of schooling.
  Scholarship winners must pay the corresponding application fee, tuition fee, accommodation fee and medical insurance fee before enjoying this scholarship.

Eligibility for the Scholarship:

• Eligible Countries: International students (non-Chinese) can apply for these scholarships.
• Entrance Requirements:1. Applicants are in good health and pass the physical examination in statutory medical institutions of China.2. Applicants for doctoral degree studies must have a master degree, and be under the age of 40.
  3. Applicants for master degree studies must have a bachelor degree, and be under the age of 35.
  4.Students who have won other scholarships are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
• English Language Requirements: General Chinese Language requirements for application to Chinese-instructed program
  -Old HSK6 (or new HSK5) or above is required for application of liberal arts, economics and management majored students.
  -Old HSK3 (or new HSK4) or above is required for application of science, engineering and medical science majored students.

  General English language requirements for application to English-instructed programs:
  -Free English Language testing for students from English speaking countries.
  -Free English Language testing for students from countries in which English is the major teaching language on condition that the relevant proof documents were provided.
  -TOEFL 550, IELTS 5.5 or Pass University’s entrance examination.

Chinese Government Scholarship

Application Procedure:

How to Apply: Applicants shall submit application materials directly to Admissions Office of School of International Office, Chongqing University. The university will review the application materials and submit to the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. Chongqing Municipal Education Commission will not be accepted the applications submitted directly by students. Applicants are required to submit the following application materials in three sets.

1. Application form

2. Highest notarized diplomas and transcripts (notarized photocopy in Chinese or English if the documents are not written in Chinese or English). Applicants who are students currently studying at Chinese university shall also provide a Study Certificate and transcripts from their host schools

3. Study plan (written in Chinese or English).

4. Two letters of recommendation. Applicants for master or doctoral degree studies shall provide two letters of recommendation by school or employer (written in Chinese or English).

5. Copy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form

6. Copy of passport information page.
